Aging in Place: the capacity to continue to live in one’s home safely, independently and comfortably regardless of age, income, or ability level
At some point in our lives, all of us will face lifestyle choices that affect how and where we want to live as we age. Almost ninety percent of the baby boomer generation wants to age in place, but most homes will need modification to compensate for seniors’ changing physical abilities as they age.
To meet this need, Joan Mullen Woods collaborates with homeowners, builders and remodelers to retrofit for aging in place or to build new, accessible homes incorporating universal design. Joan’s passion is to guide clients to reflect their own design sensibilities while creating a comfortable, functional space in which they can live safely and fully at any age and ability level.
Joan Mullen Woods is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) and Associate Member of the Northwest Society of Interior Designers. Joan Mullen Woods Interiors provides a full range of residential interior design services.
